Dear Customer,

 

2011 is approaching its final stages to what has probably been one of the most eventful years in the history of the Chemoil organisation. There has been a lot of internal reshuffling of personnel, streamlining of procedures and business interests. Many new skilled employees have joined our team and now we are confident enough to say the new Chemoil has improved - for your benefit.

 

Chemoil is a physical player in more of the leading bunker hubs than anybody else on the planet. Something we are extremely proud of. We recently added Phillidelphia to our list of ports, and we are looking for other opportunities in the future so we can utilize our in-house expertise and strong trading network. Focus is not only on being in all these hubs, focus is on being the best in all of them. This way we can attract you as the customer and make Chemoil a success. For other ports we have brokers and traders in Monaco, Athens and Seoul that can assist you as well. 

 

 

Goals:

 

Our goal is to bring value to our customers. Not only by delivering good quality fuel at the right time, but also at the right price. We want to partner our customers, capturing opportunities that can help their business as well as our own.

 

New initiative - Derivatives:

 

To reach some of our goals we have recently set up a derivatives department. Before we were merely focusing on Fixed Forward Prices (which we still offer), but we want to provide something extra. The idea is to assist customers buying more efficiently - sometimes combining spot and paper. By being prudent we aim for our customers to avoid the highs of the market, trying to benefit from the lows. We all know this is tough times for shipping, but here is a “tool” that really can make a difference and it doesn’t have to be that complicated. Doing nothing in a volatile market is not necessarily the best option, and with our physical set-up we are in a unique position to offer both simple and more advanced solutions. We like nothing better than when a customer “lock in” bunkers at the lows of the market. To us, we make the same margins as when the market is high, but more importantly we have a happy customer who will return. So far this year we have helped a large number of ship owners to save a lot of money in this respect.

 

Upcoming challenges – 3.50% sulphur avails:

 

If you have participated in any of the many conferences this year, you would know that the global limit for sulphur content of any fuel is reduced from 4.50% to 3.50% Sulphur by mass from 1st January 2012. We already now see a lot of ships out there expressing interest for taking this product. A quick rundown of our physical ports shows the following availability of fuel with max 3.50% sulphur. Please ask first as we also store the current specs:

 

USWC: Available

NY: Available

Philly: Available

Houston: Available

Gulf of Mexico: Available

Panama: Available

Fujairah: Available

Rotterdam: Available

Singapore: Available from 1st of Jan 2012.
