Chemoil has introduced a second dedicated barge for IFO380 and Marine Gasoil (MGO) supply in the US Gulf port of New Orleans to meet growing demand.

Initial bunker sales volumes of IFO380 and MGO have been very encouraging since Chemoil commenced its marine fuel supply service in the US Gulf port in February

Adrian Tolson, Chemoil’s Vice President for Sales and Marketing, said New Orleans has quickly shown how it complements Chemoil’s bunker supply network along the US Gulf Coast and Caribbean; providing customers with more choice and flexibility when it comes procuring bunker fuel in the region.

“We launched our service in February and early sales have been very encouraging,” he commented. “Continued customer demand has meant we’ve had to engage a second dedicated barge to make fuel deliveries.”

Mr Tolson said Chemoil was providing a reliable and prompt service to support its bulk carrier and tanker customers in New Orleans while strengthening its position as a leading provider of marine fuel along the US Gulf Coast.

“The favorable response we have received shows that customers are glad to see Chemoil back supplying to the New Orleans bunker market as we provide an experienced and reliable alternative service to existing suppliers in the region.”
